Six days ago, Trump posted a tweet full of glowing praise for the NRA. I thought it smelled, and said so then. Looks like I was right. He behaved as the perfect pragmatist, as usual, because he had a bunch of “listening sessions,” hearing everyone’s “demands.” William James would be proud.
Yes, taken out of context, many of the things Trump said in his speech yesterday were excellent. But in this show I’ll discuss how his anti-ideology framework undermines anything good he says. A few Program Notes, below, but this will be a very focused show.
