The Supreme Court reached the right result on same-sex marriage, but for the wrong reasons. What’s worse, some in the “LGBT” community are saying that marriage wasn’t really the goal, that their goal was to *force* those who reject same-sex marriage to deal with them as they would any other couples.

The ultimate goal of the homosexual political movement was always more than just getting the government to stop inappropriately discriminating against homosexuals. Grounded in the primacy of consciousness premise, the movement wanted society to view homosexuality not as an abnormality, but as just another lifestyle, just as normal as heterosexuality. Illustratively, homosexual couples want society to view one of the partners as wife and one as husband. The legal system views marriage as a domestic partnership. But the homosexual political movement insists on their domestic partnerships as being called “marriages”, as that is the word for heterosexual domestic partnerships. It wasn’t regarded as acceptable just to have the law give the same legal status to homosexual domestic partnerships as was given to heterosexual domestic partnerships. Terry D. Brown
The left is just using gays to attack the domestic contract and everything else that it feels stands in the way of power. Similarly, the religious don’t care about individual rights unless it benefits them. It was the duty of the Constitutional government to recognize the implied contract in domestic unions without discriminating what individuals were participating in that legal entity, however the religious rejoiced when the state adopted the word marriage, which does have specific historical definition. However, when the state adopts a concept it owns it and this law student circa 1970 expected this turn would happen. However, SCOTUS’s failure to limit its decision with individual rights completed the redefining of the concept, which further empowers the left and further destroys any grounds for individual freedom of choice regarding association based on personal views, religious or otherwise.
