I was listening from afar minus occassional interruptions with my working day – it seemed you and Bosch had your hands full within the chat today!

    Amy,

    A. Valmont can speak for him or herself. I have never said that an employer shouldn’t interview people of all races and not hire the most qualified person. There are dumb whites and bad whites, there are smart blacks and good blacks. No surprise there.

Even left wing experts on intelligence agree that IQ is a good measure of intelligence and that IQ varies according to population groups. The only question is the cause. Polls that have been taken of experts in intelligence indicate that the majority believe that there is at least some genetic component to racial differences in intelligence. Consider the following:

    1. Human beings moved out of Africa and into different areas. Different areas means different selection pressures. This resulted in changes in skin color, hair texture, etc. It is very unlikely that this didn’t affect the brain. In fact, the races vary in the genes that control for brain size and development even more than the genes that control for pigmentation.

    2. Everything we know about intelligence indicates that it is highly heritable. For example, if you want to know how intelligent an adopted child is you look at the IQ of the biological parent, not the adoptive parent. There have been studies of malnourished Korean children who were adopted into white homes. Their IQs were off the charts. This doesn’t mean that between group differences in intelligence are genetic, but it’s strong proof.

    3. Intermediate groups such as African Americans (20% European genes), South African Cape Colords (mixture of black, white and Indians) and Hispanics (mixture of Native Americans and Europeans) have IQs in between the parent groups. This is what a hereditarian approach would predict.

There are other lines of evidence, but I won’t bore you with the details. (You might wish to check the literature on Spearman’s Hypothesis for a start.)

Now, I’ve heard Objectivists and libertarians say, “Well, even if this is true, all groups will benefit from limited government regardless of IQ.” This may be true to some extent, but since The Bell Curve came out we know that low IQ is correlated with high crime, high unemployment, high welfare dependency and high illegitimacy and family breakdown. The reasons aren’t clear, but the less intelligent you are it’s probably the case the less you are able to appreciate the value of restraint in sexual matters, staying in school, etc.

What kind of government do you think lower IQ groups will vote for–the Constitutional system that was developed by high IQ Europeans in 1789 or the Cultural Marxist regime that has run America since the 1960s? To give one example, in 2014 California passed a referendum raising the sales tax and taxes on the rich. It passed because of overwhelming Hispanic support. Maybe this is altruism, but perhaps Hispanics know which ethnic group butters their bread and is most likely to be hit hardest by such a law (and don’t care).

Interestingly, I’ve never heard an “open immigration” Objectivist call for Israel to adopt the immigration and egalitarianism that they seek to impose on the rest of us. Yaron Brook recently said that the Republicans were “stupid, stupid” to want to build a wall on the Southern border. Funny, Israel has built a wall to keep out Sub-Saharan Africans, among others. Does Dr. Brook consider this stupid?

I realize you consider me a racist. If you can find a flaw in anything I’ve said, I’d like to hear it.

    Amy,
I’m not sure but I believe in a previous show you said something about some glasses you use to filter the blue light of your computer’s screen?
If that’s true I’d like to recommend you an app I’ve been using for a while called f.lux
It does exactly that, it reduces the blue light your screen emits. No funny glasses needed!
