Phony GOP, “Libertarian” priorities, today at 12 p.m. PT (3 p.m. ET)

Obama says the scandals plaguing him–scandals that should be plaguing him more than they are–are “phony”. We’ll discuss why they’re not phony, including new developments on the Benghazi and I.R.S. scandals. It’s the GOP that’s phony, for its failure to hold Obama accountable. We’ll also discuss the latest on the Obamacare implementation train wreck, including a new “fix” that will exempt politicians and their staffers. And more. See program notes with links, below.

  1. Here is a good one for the “sense of life” meter: Lemonade Freedom Day. It hasn’t been in the news as much this summer as in the past, but there is still a movement afoot to openly and publicly defy (and shame) the authorities who would shut down kids’ summer lemonade stands. They have a webpage and a facebook page encouraging kids to set up summer lemonade stands on August 10, and urging people to support them.

I wrote a blog post on this topic back in 2011, titled “Forget the Tea Party, I Want to Start the Lemonade Party.” http://creaturesofprometheus.blogspot.com/2011/07/forget-tea-party-i-want-to-start.html

  2. Check this out: Ted Cruz is proposing a rider to the continuing resolution that would defund both the discretionary and mandatory spending on Obamacare:
