Don’t Let It Go! Today at 12 p.m. PT (3 p.m. CT)

Today we will revisit Ayn Rand’s essay, “Don’t Let It Go,” which was the inspiration for the name of my blog and my podcast. We’ll look at our nation’s actions, culture and sense of life, and ask: How are we doing in 2014 vs. in 1971, when Rand published the original essay?

In the process we’ll be discussing, as usual, some recent news stories. See Program Notes, below for all the stories, etc., we plan to discuss.

Dude! A Pro-American Administration Is, Like, So Three Decades Ago!

Today we can’t resist talking about the Obama Administration lackey who called Brett Baier “Dude” on Fox News yesterday. It’s a perfect encapsulation of the Obama Administration: Its conviction that it has the media in its pocket, its contempt for the American people, its lack of decorum, its refusal to be held accountable—both for its failure to do its job, and for its insistence on doing a whole bunch of things that aren’t its job. A number of the stories we will discuss today touch on this theme, but there’s a lot more as you’ll see in the program notes, below.

Wishing Won’t Make It So, Today at 12 p.m. PT (3 p.m. ET)

Israeli prime minister Netanyahu quits “peace talks” for good reasons, and Obama says it’s just a “lack of will.” Obama announces a bunch of nothing, declaring it a proposal to end the NSA bulk data collection, and not only do the media step in line, even Edward Snowden hails it as a “turning point.” An “Interfaith Panel” demands the removal of all mention of “Islamic terrorism” — from the 9/11 Memorial! And much more on today’s show focusing on the mindset of those who believe that wishing will make it so.
